In 1882, in New York City, Peter McGuire and Matthew Maguire put together the first Labor Day parade with 10,000 workers protesting the unfair working conditions. This holiday now celebrates the American labor movement and everything that workers contribute toward the prosperity, well-being, and strength of the United States of America.
