Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, was designated by Woodrow Wilson in 1919 to commemorate the end of World War I and the service of our armed service members in that conflict. It is a day of reflection and giving back to the men and women who have given so much for this country. Thankfully, there are many ways that we can show our gratitude.

Certain restaurants offer highly discounted or even free meals on Veterans Day. Some of the most popular include Friendly’s, which offers either free breakfast, lunch or dinner, Golden Corral’s complimentary “Thank You Dinner,” and Hooters, which offers a free meal at any time of day special. It is important to note that most of these deals require presenting a military ID or proof of service so make sure you pack one and head on over for your well-deserved freebie! In addition to American businesses offering discounts for our heroes, we can also do our part as individual citizens. There are a lot of great charities out there that work to give back to the armed service men and women who have given so much for us. Many of these programs offer assistance not only with counseling and medical aid for physical and psychological injuries sustained on the battlefield, but also career assistance as they help Veterans slowly integrate back into civilian life. As we take this day to honor and remember those who have fought valiantly for us over America’s history, from all of us here at Condor Capital, thank you for your service and have a wonderful Veterans Day!
